The Guyver: Rapier Unit - by Owen Ward
We all know that this part of a fanfic is
full of the usual blabber, ie, characters based on original
story by Yoshiki Takaya, all other characters are fictional,
property of me don't use them............. etc...............
So, now that is over, then on with chapter 6!
Chapter 6: Home Calling
The three Guyvers landed in the back garden
of the house and were welcomed by Mizuki who came charging out
of the house to make sure that they were all okay.
"What happened to you?" asked a shocked
Mizuki upon seeing the explosive marks left on Guyver3s armour
from his encounter with Gastor.
"Oh, it's nothing a good nights sleep wont
cure" said Agito after his armour had retracted, leaving him in
his familiar human form. "Come on, lets get you three inside so
you can rest up" wittered Mizuki.
"So how did you learn to fight like that?"
asked Agito over the cup of hot chocolate that sat steaming in
front of him.
"Basic principles of battle, use whatever you
can to your advantage, I simply used Darzerbs momentum to my
advantage" replied Dave.
"You can say that again!" sniggered Sho.
Murakami sat there with a puzzled look on his
face, "What, you mean there is a new zoanoid that looks like
Darzerb?".
"No", retorted Agito, "He means it WAS
actually Darzerb. Thancrus and Gastor were there too. It seems
that Chronos has undergone the Hyper Zoanoid Team 5 processes
with 5 new elite subjects".
"Well, lets just say that my first proper
taste of battle was an interesting experience" remarked Dave.
Sho looked up, he was very tired from the
battle but Dave's last remark had really caught his attention,
"You mean you've never fought a zoanoid before tonight?"
"Sort of"
"But you fight so well, like you've been
doing it for years, how come you handled Darzerb so well? Is it
because of that training you did with your agency?" Sho asked.
"Yes, they trained me very well, plus the
fact that I spent about four years training with, and without my
armour so that I could combat Chronos with 110% effectiveness.
It's also good to know your own limits so you don't end up
getting yourself in shit you can't handle. Excuse my language,
I'm not used to having a lady present!"
Mizuki smiled warmly at Dave in response to
his last remark, she felt very flattered.
"I think Chronos knew about your prescence in
Mt. Minakami Dave" said Murakami.
"But thats impossible, how do you figure
that?" Dave said extremely shocked.
"Well, tonight after you handed me the
backpack and left to help Sho and Agito there was a large
cracking sound, it made the car shake, and split my rear screen.
It must've been a blast from a zoanoid, but I didn't sense any
zoanoids in the area, so they must've been at quite a distance
from the car" explained Murakami.
Dave chuckled to himself, "That wasn't a
zoanoid! It was must've been me in flight, I knew I could fly
fast but I didn't know I could touch the sound barrier!"
"I'm sorry, but with a bang that loud how
they hell could you not realise!" said Murakami, still rubbing
his ringing ears.
"Well, by the time I've broken the sound
barrier I'm already gone!" laughed Dave.
Agito sat in silence, he really didn't
believe that Dave's armour was as powerful as he had said it
was, but now that he had seen it in battle he wasn't so sure.
Agito was lost in thought, wondering what else Dave's
bio-booster armour was capable of, then he remembered something,
"It was you that saved me during the first ambush that Sho and I
carried out on a convoy wasn't it?"
Dave looked up, "Yes, I was there. That was
my first real battle with zoanoids, but they were just standard
zoanoids and didn't pose much of a problem. Keeping out of sight
was the main problem"
"How exactly did you save Agito?" asked
Tetsuro, trying to edge into the conversation.
"Projected gravitation shield?" said Agito,
half answering, half trying to find the truth.
Dave was shocked by the fact that Agito knew
and looked up, then began to answer, "Your right, it was a
gravitational shield. I gather you know that because you've
created one?"
Attention now shifted to Agito, "Yes, well
sort of, basically I created a pressure cannon blast and held it
in front of me to absorb the blast that was aimed at me"
"You used your pressure cannon to great
effect but I can somehow create gravitational fields whose sole
purpose is to absorb impacts. I can create them reasonably
easily, it's all down to concentration. You know my training,
well it wasn't just physical training. Let me explain."
The room fell silent as Dave began to tell of
his past experiences.
"The agency that I work for is made up from
the most brilliant minds and experienced hands from my country.
To be able to join you have pass certain physical and mental
tests. To pass the physical you have to be fit enough to carry
out your proposed job position to 100% without your physical
state imparing you in anyway. To pass the mental test your brain
has to be able, or show the potential, to perform certain tasks.
So basically what I'm saying is that within the agency some of
the staff have mental abilities so far advanced over your
average person that they can perform telepathy, and other mind
related abilities."
"So your a telepath?" chirped Mizuki.
"No, not at all, I can't read your mind or
anything like that. What I'm trying to tell you is that part of
my training was based on my mental abilities. I only passed the
mental tests because I had the 'potential', when I asked to
undergo field training my superiors knew it was for something
special. They couldn't read my mind due to my Guyver Unit. They
figured that my mental abilities must've improved so they made
sure that a lot of my training concentrated on my mental skills.
This mental training focused a lot on contentration and will
power, and due to the advances in the Control Medal on my Unit,
it means that I have a lot more control over my Unit" finished
Dave.
"So you can not only produce gravitational
shields with great ease but you can also project them?" asked
Murakami.
"Yes, thats the generalisation, although I
can't do lots of things at once. For instance; I can't project a
shield, stay invisable and use my head laser all at the same
time. Although I can attack while invisable if I use my blades"
replied Dave.
"How come?" said Sho, who was listening
intensely to what Dave was saying.
"Well, I trained for so long that I found
staying invisable as simple as breathing. It was a matter of
training myself to treat some abilities so that they became
reflex reactions" explained Dave.
"You said earlier that you knew your limits,
do you know all of the abilities of your armour?" asked Sho.
"I'm not sure, like I explained after I spent
my first night here, there were some other objects found with my
G-Unit. And as I've explained before some of them were like
message units, left to explain why the Guyver Units were
created, and it also told me how they were to be used. But it
didn't explain every feature on my bio-booster armour. In fact
some of the articles found with my Unit didn't seem to do
anything at all, and to be truthful I still don't even know what
they do now, if anything at all that is" replied Dave.
They talked for a while more but they were
all feeling quite weary, especially Sho and Agito. Although Dave
seemed unusually active considering he had used his Guyver Unit,
he didn't show the fatigue that was so familiar with Sho and
Agito. They decided to look through the digital camera footage
from Mt. Minakami tomorrow, when they would all feel more alert.
The next day was bright and sunny, a complete
contrast to the backdrop that highlighted the Guyvers' battle
last night. As the friends gathered in the kitchen Sho was the
first to talk "Why are your bags sat by the front door Dave?".
"Because I'm leaving" answered Dave.
"What? But we've only just begun!" remarked
Agito.
"I got a message last night from my friend in
the agency. It seems that one of the articles found with my
G-Unit has begun to act strangely, my friend thinks that it may
be a warning that there is a Chronos presence in my country. I
can't just let something like that happen, I have to go!"
explained Dave.
"But what about our plans to make Chronos
Japan fall?" asked Sho.
"I'll keep in touch, I'll leave some
equipment here to help you out. As soon as I know my country is
safe then I'll return to help you. All I can suggest is that you
keep a low profile until I can be sure of when I will be able to
return."
On returning to his country Dave was
astonished by the worldwide stranglehold that Chronos had. He
was ignorant at first to the power that Chronos held, but now
that he had ventured into the realms of the Guyver he fully
realised what his life was now to entail.
