The Guyver: Rapier Unit - by Owen Ward

We all know that this part of a fanfic is full of the usual blabber, ie, characters based on original story by Yoshiki Takaya, all other characters are fictional, property of me don't use them............. etc...............

So, now that is over, then on with chapter 5!

Chapter 5: Plans Become Actions

Pictures taken by agency satellites were requested by Dave to help with their plans to get inside of Chronos. Daves friend in the agency had made up a story about Mt. Minakami being used as a place where the guerrilla forces were storing weapons, therefore getting clearance to take the pictures and send copies of them to Dave.

The pictures revealed the security systems that were used during the delivery of supplies to Chronos, this was the only way that Dave could use his Guyver unit to get in undetected. If he went in without the doors already being open, so to speak, then it would set alarm bells ringing. And even though they wouldn't be able to find him it would make his task all the more difficult.

The surveillance footage that Dave was to take once inside Mt. Minakami was going to be recorded using a digital camera, although unlike most digital cameras which only take stills, this unit could record hours of footage at extremely high resolution. The rate of resolution would be needed so that when images are zoomed into no picture quality is lost.

The camera lens would be a pencil type which would be strapped onto the side of Daves head once he had activated his unit, he would then have to wear a packback which would contain the rest of the camera equipment.

The rest of the plan was simple, Sho and Agito, in their Guyver forms, would stop a supply convoy and begin to fight any zoanoid troops but would leave the convoy to escape. Dave, in his Guyver form, would jump on top of one of the supply trucks while the convoy was slowed by Guyvers 1 and 3.

One major factor of this plan was that the supply convoy had to have at least one supply truck with a solid container on the back, rather than a kanvas type storage area. There was a very simple reason to this, if GuyverX was to lay upon a kanvas roofed vehicle then his imprint would be easily discovered if the convoy was to be checked as it entered the base. With a solidly roofed truck then there would be no noticeable sign of GuyverX's location.

Once in the base Dave planned on finding out as much information about future plans that Chronos had in the pipe-line and also any information about the processing tanks and other zoanoid related equipment.

So there it was, the plans were imprinted in the mind of Sho, Agito and Dave and the stage was set.

The three of them walked outside and summoned their units. Guyver1 and Guyver3 stood looking at GuyverX, Dave hadn't told them about any of the other features to his unit, just the fact that the gravity orb was powerful enough to bend light round him and make him invisible. As Guyver1 and Guyver3 looked GuyverX up and down they noticed minor differences between their units and the Rapier. The only thing they could see that was unusual about this bio-booster armour was the fact that it had small red ords in the wrists, held in place by the armour that shrouded it. These orbs were on the inside of the wrists, so they weren't vulnerable to attack and looked very much like the redish orbs in the top of Guyver1 and GuyverX's head, just behind the root of the curved horn.

"What are those red orbs for?" asked Guyver1 through the telepathy that the Guyvers shared.

"It's one of my weapons, you'll probably see it in action later, now lets get this camera gear on me" replied GuyverX.

Guyver3 continued the questioning, "What sort of weapon, like the head laser?"

"Not at all, it's more of an aid than a weapon, it just depends how you use it"

After they had rigged up the gear they checked the meeting place with Murakami one last time. He was to rendezvous with GuyverX once he was out of Mt. Minakami to pick up the camera equipment, then GuyverX would be free to go and get/help the other Guyvers.

Headlights lit up the trail which Guyver1 and 3 were hiding near to, GuyverX looked down from his vantage point in the tree above, ready to pounce on the convoy.

As Guyver1 and 3 stepped into the path of the convoy there was a blare of airhorns then the dull high-pitched rumble of tyres skidding on dirt. GuyverX looked directly below him at the lorry, masking himself he dropped carefully out of the tree so he didn't make too much noise as he landed.

Scores of Chronos Troopers began to pour out of the assorted vehicles within the supply convoy.

"GO" GuyverX telepthically gave the signal for Guyver1 and 3 to draw the zoanoids into the woods so that the convoy could escape.

After a couple of minutes GuyverX heard the unmistakable sound of rotor-slap, about 10 seconds later 4 transport helicopters flew straight over the convoy in the direction of Guyver1 and Guyver3. GuyverX knew he only had a few minutes inside the Mt. Minakami base before he would have to leave and rendezvous with Murakami, so he could then rush to the aid of the heavily out numbered Guyvers.

Once in the base GuyverX had to make sure that he didn't run into any zoanoids, even though he was invisible he was still a physical presence, so anybody could easily walk into him. He also had to make sure that he didn't trigger any security systems or make any movements that could be picked up by cameras, such as opening a door. GuyverX's main points of interest within the base were the processing tanks and the computer database. He knew from his field training that the best way to win any battle was to know more about the enemy than the enemy knew about him. To learn more about the zoanoids he needed to get datafiles from Chronos computer systems and also see how they developed in the processing tanks.

He knew from what Agito had told him that zoanoids were created in batches with a certain time period between each zoanoid, therefore he could look from one processing tank to another and see how the zoanoids grew and evolved.

Guyver1sliced the tree trunk which a Gregole type and just thrown at him. He responded by firing his head laser straight at the zoanoids throat, causing a spurt of blood to fly from the wound. Just as the Gregole type flung his hand to cover the gapping hole in his throat Guyver1 lurched forwards at great speed, aided by the use of his gravitational orb. Mid-flight Guyver1's vibrational blades buzzed into action, leaving a streak of light tracing the movement of the blades. The path of light disappeared as the blade ripped through the hard, thick flesh of the zoanoid. As Guyver1 landed behind the Gregole type and spun around to witness the right arm of the zoanoid flopping to the floor followed by a gush of blood.

Meanwhile Guyver3 was taking on a Vamore type head to head. Guyver3 knew he would have to keep moving so that the Vamore type wouldn't have time to aim it's bio-blasters at him. Suddenly there was brilliant flash of light as the Vamore type opened fire blindly at Guyver3 who spun around from behind the tree which he had taken cover behind. As Guyver3 spun to face the zoanoid he released a barrage of pressure cannon shots, three in total, in the general direction from which the blast had originated. Guyver3 peered from behind the tree, which he had dived behind as soon as he had launched his attack at the zoanoid, only to see the Vamore type staggering around aimlessly. One of the pressure cannon shots had destroyed the bio-blaster on the left shoulder of the zoanoid just he was preparing to fire. Since there was no discharge the bio-blaster pod had simply destroyed itself due to overcharging, taking half of the zoanoid with it. In one vain last attempt the Vamore type released a dying blast from it's remaining bio-blaster. Only to be stood facing a completely healthy Guyver3 who had taken to the air once he had seen the pod begin to charge. Guyver3 grabbed the head of the zoanoid and wrenched it as hard as he could, snapping it's neck completely.

Murakami nervously looked at his watch and then glanced back outside of his sportscar and scanned the area for movement. Suddenly there was a tap at the window. Murakami spun around and drew his gun at the same time, only to be faced with GuyverX. "Hey, take it easy!" remarked GuyverX as he passed the backpack through the window which Murakami had just wound down.

"You'd best get going before our friends are ripped apart by zoanoids" barked Murakami.

"I'm gone, I saw 4 Helicopters heading their way just before I entered Mt. Minakami, I don't like the odds" mumbled GuyverX as he leapt into the air. CRACK! Murakami whipped his hands up to cover his ears. "What the fuck was that?" he yelled as he slammed the gearstick into it's gate, dumped the clutch and wrenched the steering wheel as hard as he could. The car spun through 180º to face the opposite way from which it had been parked. Rubber peeled of the tyres and laid two perfectly parallel lines on the road as Murakami sped off, fearing the noise he had heard. As Murakami looked in the rear-view mirror he noticed a crack in his rear screen, whatever had fired at him had only just missed and it certainly wasn't a blast from a zoanoid because he would have sensed its presence.

Guyver1 fell reeling from the strike of a Ramotith type which he had not seen advancing behind him. The zoanoid then picked up a large boulder which it lifted above it's head. Guyver1 began to shuffle backwards in an attempt to get out of the way of the attack which he was sure was going to happen within seconds. Guyver1 heard a large shattering sound and then turned to see the zoanoid covered in what looked like chalk dust. Just as the zoanoid began to turn around it was ripped into pieces by a pressure cannon blast. As the lifeless body dropped to the floor Guyver1 was faced with GuyverX. "What the hell happened then?" asked Guyver1 telepathically. "Let's just say I gave the rock a bit of verbal abuse" replied GuyverX, content with the use of his sonic emitters.

GuyverX cupped his hands together and Guyver1 was astonished to see GuyverX creating another pressure cannon energy ball, surely he couldn't have fallen under the control of Chronos!

GuyverX then dropped to the floor and span around, and as he did so, released the ball of energy. Guyver1 followed the path of the shot with his eyes and was amazed to see a zoanoid drop from one of the trees, which it had no doubt been intending to pounce from.

Guyver1 and GuyverX suddenly heard a pained scream through the organisms on their backs, "Somebody help me!"

Both Guyvers turned to look in the same direction and began galloping through the woods to where they sensed Guyver3 was calling from. As both Guyvers stumbled side by side into the clearing, which Guyver3 was laid in the middle of, his body was smoking from a recent attack from some sort of explosive. Suddenly three figures appeared from the shadows that Guyvers 1 & 3 thought they would never see again.

"Hyper Zoanoid Team 5!" gasped Guyver1.

"Not quite", replied Thancrus, "we are replacements for the Team 5 which you previously destroyed, different subjects but processed to create the same Hyper zoanoids, unfortunately Elegen and Zector couldn't be with us because they are still being processed".

"Looks like the odds are more even than we first met and it was 5 on 1!!!!" Guyver1 exclaimed.

"Yes, I see you have a new friend, Chronos HQ would love to hear about you!" screamed Darzerb, looking in GuyverX's direction.

"Well, I'd better make sure that you've got plenty to tell them!" replied GuyverX as he extended all four of his vibrational swords.

Guyver3 picked himself up off the floor and immedeately released a triple barrage of pressure cannon blasts towards Gastor. Guyver3 knew from previous encounters that if Gastor wasn't neutralised as soon as possible then they would quickly be beaten into submission. Gastor was giving as good as he got by launching bio-missiles to intercept the pressure blasts.

While Gastor and Guyver3 where dueling blast for blast Guyver1 had taken up the challenge of Thancrus.

Guyver1 remembered from the first encounter with this Hyper zoanoid that he was extremely quick and had vast amounts of endurance. Guyver1 made full use of his head laser as he tried to keep up with the speed and reflexes of Thancrus. Guyver1 was trying his best to block Thancrus, as he swiped at him with his radiation fins, by using his own vibrational swords as a shield.

"Looks like your my new dancing partner" shouted Darzerb at GuyverX. "How charming, my first blind date and I get stuck with a rhino" retorted GuyverX. This just enraged Darzerb further "Cheeky son of a bitch, prepare to DIE!!!!!". Darzerb charged at GuyverX, using his flame breathing skill to create a battering ram of fire. GuyverX side-stepped the charge and spun round to blast Darzerb in the back, as he passed, using his head laser. Darzerb turned and laughed at GuyverX, "Your weak laser cannot harm me you fool". "No, but maybe these will!" remarked GuyverX as the spikes on his knuckles extended to a length of about eighteen inches to form huge talons. "I doubt it very much" mocked Darzerb, who again tried to charge down GuyverX. GuyverX jumped into the air using his gravity orb and back-flipped to land on Darzerb's shoulders, as he did so GuyverX swung furioulsy with his claws. The effect was noticeable on Darzerbs seemingly impervious skin, leaving gapping gashes.

Guyver3 had almost exhausted Gastor of his bio-missiles but had suffered some extremely close calls from the explosions of the onces that barely missed him. The overall effect of these near-misses was that Guyver3 had become slightly stunned and knew that Gastor would win the fight if he continued the way he had been fighting. Guyver3 saw his chance, he fired his head lasers in one long continuous burst, just past Gastor. "Ha, you missed you foo..........AAHHHHH". Gastor's words were cut short as the tree dropped onto him from behind. Guyver3s laser shot had been well placed and the tree he was aiming for fell in just the right direction. Just as Gastor was heaving the tree off himself Guyver3 opened one of his chest plates and destroyed Gastor using a half-powered Mega Smasher blast.

The sound of the blast caught Thancrus' full attention and he looked towards the large crater in the ground that was once one of his Team-mates.

"YOU BASTARD!" Thancrus screamed as loud as he could at Guyver3 who was still crouched on the floor, completely exhausted. The lack of concentration on the fight that Thancrus was midway through became his downfall. Just as he leaped, to attack the tired Guyver3, Thancrus was slashed from behind by Guyver1 using his vibrational swords. Thancrus screamed and turned to face Guyver1 head on to respond to the attack, this was yet another bad idea by Thancrus. Guyver1s next strike with his vibrational swords laced straight across his enemys chest. There was a large spurt of blood from the wound on Thncrus as he fell to the floor lifeless.

"NNNNOOOOOOO" came the scream from Darzerb, as he looked on in horror as his friend fell limply to the floor. GuyverX picked himself up from the floor following a desperate dive that he had made to escape a blast of fire from Darzerb. Darzerb stood still in his tracks and raised his haunches as he squared himself up to face GuyverX. "First you will die, then your friends will die, you will pay the price of killing my friends" scorned Darzerb.

"Not today we wont" replied GuyverX prepared himself for the attack that was iminent. Darzerb began to charge GuyverX. Guyver1 and Guyver3 looked on from a distance, they were both stood there thinking about what GuyverX would do next. Darzerb was bearing down on GuyverX and began to belch large blasts of fire as he gained on the statuesque figure.

GuyverX stood fast, his ankle blades extended and dug deeply into the ground, he wasn't going to move! He then extended one of his arms, retracted his claws, and stretched his hand (palm first) towards Darzerb. The claws on his other hand glinted in the moonlight as he clenched his fist over and over again.

As Darzerb neared to within feet of GuyverX something strange happened. The flames from Darzerbs mouth weren't even touching the Guyver! They seemed to be blocked by some kind of invisible wall, acting as a shield for GuyverX. Darzerb stopped the flame as we got within a few feet of GuyverX, he had stopped the burst of flames far too late though. Had he seen GuyverX's intention sooner then maybe Darzerb could have stopped, but as it was he was on a one-way route to certain disaster. GuyverX had raised his clawed hand as Darzerb had got to within feet of him and the timing was devastatinlgy accurate. The claws pierced Darzerbs chin as GuyverX brought his hand up through an uppercut motion. GuyverX then used Darzerbs immense inertia to his advantage. He bent backwards with the force of Darzerb and retracted his ankle blades, and with a little help from his gravity orb he had flipped completely over and smashed Darzerb into the ground with a huge amount of force. As GuyverX's feet continued in their arc like motion and landed on Darzerb's limp body he backflipped yet again, high into the air, and landed crouching on his feet with his unclawed hand placed palm down on the floor and holding his clawed hand up in front of his face.

Guyver1 and 3 looked in amazement as GuyverX retracted his claw and walked towards the recently disposed of body. Guyver1 and 3 ran over to join GuyverX as he surveyed his handy work. The impact with which GuyverX had slammed Darzerb into the ground was so strong that it had left an imprint of the dead body. The use of GuyverXs claw had also split Darzerbs head in two.

"Holy shit!" gasped Guyver1.

"Where the hell did you learn to fight like that?" asked Guyver3.

"We'll discuss this later, lets go before more zoanoids turn up!" said GuyverX as he began to hover using his gravity orb. The other two Guyvers leapt into the air using their gravity orbs and they set off, with GuyverX, flying low accross the tree tops.
